Sunsets and Volcanoes: The Best Beer

DSCF0980

Here we are enjoying the best beer I’ve ever tasted in my life, sipping a cold bottle of San Miguel as we watch the sun set over Main Crater Lake on the summit of Taal Volcano in the Philippines. Whilst it might not actually be the best beer in the world it was at this moment in time after the journey!

My First Travel Trove

It’s fitting that my first Trove is one of my favourite views in the world (so far).

I love this spot just outside Coraralejo on the Island of Fuerteventura in the Canaries. This shot was taken from the ‘Sahara Desert’ style sand dunes Las Dunas de Corralejo (sand actually blows in from the Sahara to form these dunes over time) looking out over the turquoise waters towards the Island of Lobos and its volcano.

Fuerteventura is my favourite island in the Canary archipelago with its white sandy beaches rather than the black volcanic sands found on some of the other islands. The Canary Islands are known for their windy climates and Fuerteventura is no exception (Fuerte=strong, Ventura=Wind) here you can just about see the colourful kite surfing in action, you can also see Lanzarote in the background behind the volcanic peak of Lobos.

A Trove is a travel discovery on Trover – the photo sharing community for travellers.
